Smart Building, Inc. is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards.

Conformance status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. They define three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA.

getsmartbuilding.com is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. "Partially conformant" means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard.

Measures we take

Accessibility is considered in our design and content decisions

We review the site using automated accessibility testing tools

We provide text alternatives for images and descriptive labels for form fields

We respect operating system "reduce motion" preferences for animated content

We test that site content can be reached and operated using a keyboard alone

Known limitations

Despite our efforts, some limitations remain. Below is a description of known issues, and we are working to address them:

1. Online work order form. Our work order form is provided through a third-party service (Smartsheet) embedded in our website. We do not control its underlying code and cannot guarantee that it meets all WCAG 2.1 Level AA criteria. If you have difficulty submitting a work order, please contact us by phone or email and we will process your request directly.

2. Heading structure. Some page headings are ordered for visual presentation rather than document structure, which may affect navigation for people using screen readers.

3. Form field autofill. Some fields on our contact form do not yet support automatic completion of stored personal information.
